Approach

We work with natural systems, not against them. The land doesn't need our ideas imposed on it — it needs our attention. Our observation. Our willingness to learn what's already working and amplify it instead of replacing it.

This isn't a farm. It's a conversation with 4.6 acres of Appalachian hillside that's been doing this longer than we have.

Principles

• LIVING SYSTEMS OVER DEAD STRUCTURES — Work with what grows, not just what you build.
• NOTHING WASTED — Every output is someone's input. Every problem is an unrecognized resource.
• RESILIENCE OVER YIELD — A system that survives failure beats one that maximizes until it doesn't.
• ANCIENT WISDOM + MODERN KNOWLEDGE — The neolithic had answers we forgot. We have tools they never imagined. Use both.
• COMMONS-BASED, NOT EXTRACTIVE — Take less than the system produces. Give back more than you take.
• ROOTED IN PLACE — This land. This watershed. This community. This climate. Not scalable. Specific.
