Loop Farmstead is a working homestead and a library of free growing and subsistence information. This page says, in plain language, what we collect, what we do not collect, and how to get your data removed.
The short version: we run no advertising, no tracking pixels, and no third-party analytics. We do not want your data. The only personal information we hold is an email address if you choose to sign up for the newsletter, and it stays on a server we control.
Loop Farmstead is a family homestead in the northern West Virginia mountains, operated by Jason Vivier. The site at loopfarmstead.com publishes free articles, guides, tools, and a weekly review called Signals.
If you sign up for the newsletter, we store:
That is the entire record. We do not ask for your name, address, phone number, or anything else.
Seed and ebook purchases are processed entirely by Stripe. Your card number never touches our server and we never see it. Stripe sends us your name, email address, and shipping address so we can put seed in an envelope and send it. Stripe's own handling of your payment data is governed by the Stripe privacy policy.
Our web server keeps ordinary access logs, which include IP addresses and pages requested. These are for diagnosing faults and blocking attacks, and they rotate off on a rolling basis.
We run no advertising network, no tracking pixel, no Google Analytics or comparable third-party analytics service, and no social media tracking button. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to anyone, ever.
We set no tracking cookies.
Some interactive pages store data in your own browser's local storage so a tool keeps its state when you come back. This data stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, and you can clear it at any time by clearing your browser data. Examples include saving which bingo squares you have marked, or your progress in a game or study tool.
We do not embed advertising networks, retargeting pixels, or analytics beacons.
If you sign up, you get the newsletter you asked for. Every message includes a way to unsubscribe, and unsubscribing works. We will not add you to another list or hand your address to a partner.
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
There is no charge for any of this and no hoops. If you are in a jurisdiction with specific statutory rights over your data, those rights are honored; asking is enough.
Data we hold is stored on a server we administer, with access limited to the household. We do not claim to be immune to every attack, but we keep the footprint small: the less we hold, the less there is to lose. If a breach ever exposed personal information, we would tell the affected people.
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we do with your information, we will update the date at the top of this page. We will not quietly expand what we collect.
