These are the terms for using Loop Farmstead. They are short because we ask very little of you and promise very little to you.
The short version: the information here is free for you to read, use, print, and share. We do our best to be accurate and we make no warranty. Growing food involves real risk. Your land and your judgment come first.
By using loopfarmstead.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the site.
The articles, guides, videos, calculators, plant references, and tools here are general educational information drawn from our own experience on one homestead in the northern West Virginia mountains.
They are not professional advice. Specifically:
What works in our valley may fail in yours. Conditions differ, and they change. Use your own observation and, where it matters, a local professional.
This site and everything on it is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy. We work to be correct, but we do not promise the site is error-free, complete, current, or uninterrupted. We may change or remove content at any time.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Loop Farmstead and Jason Vivier are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site or reliance on anything on it. That includes crop failure, animal loss, property damage, lost profit, or any indirect or consequential loss. You use this information at your own risk, on your own land, with your own judgment.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
The most important term on this page: never eat a plant, mushroom, or any wild food based only on something you read here. Identification errors can kill you. Verify every wild plant with an expert and a reputable field guide, in person, before eating it. When in doubt, throw it out.
You may read, print, and share the free material here for personal and educational use, including with neighbors, schools, and community groups. You may quote it with credit and a link.
You may not republish substantial portions as your own work, sell it as a product, or train commercial AI models on it without asking. The books and ebooks sold here remain the property of the author.
Seed and digital goods are sold through Stripe as a merchant of record for the payment step. Prices and availability may change. Because seed is a living product and ebooks are delivered instantly, sales are final once shipped or delivered.
If an order arrives damaged, is wrong, or never arrives, write to us at lupinialbus@gmail.com and we will sort it out. Seed is a living thing and germination depends on conditions we do not control, so we cannot promise a particular germination rate; we can promise to be straight with you about any problem you bring us.
Payment processing is subject to Stripe's own terms and privacy policy.
If you sign up, you agree to receive the newsletter you asked for. Every message tells you how to unsubscribe, and unsubscribing is immediate. We send what you signed up for and nothing else, and we do not sell or share addresses.
Links out to other sites are provided because they are useful, not because we control or endorse them. Their content and their terms are their own business, not ours.
If you send us a message, correction, photo, or suggestion, you give us permission to use it in the site or the newsletter. You keep ownership of anything you send. Do not send us anything you are not free to share.
Text, photographs, video, illustrations, and the design of this site belong to Loop Farmstead and Jason Vivier unless credited otherwise. The plant and growing data compiled here is ours to publish. Third-party sources are cited.
We may update these terms. The current version always lives at loopfarmstead.com/terms, and the date at the top of this page tells you when it changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of West Virginia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
